The GT-Air 3 features a new, more fluidly unified overall design while maintaining the excellent stability during riding provided by the GT-Air series’s signature helmet top shape.
The sides of the shell enhance shock absorbency, and new side components enhance aerodynamic performance. The sporty design works effortlessly with a wide range of styling options, with an aerodynamic form that makes touring even more comfortable and enjoyable.
The upper air intake base, rib, and shutter are designed to efficiently direct air into the helmet during riding.
The top air outlet has been moved forward to where the airflow over the shell surface is fastest, increasing outflow compared with the previous model. The helmet’s highly efficient ventilation makes riding even more comfortable.
Lower the sun visor for better comfort and vision in bright sunlight, then raise it when going through dim tunnels or riding at night for unimpeded visibility through a clear shield. The GT-Air 3 is equipped with the QSV-2 Sun Visor, enabling users to adapt in an instant as riding conditions change. The QSV-2 boasts excellent optical performance meeting European sunglasses standards.
The micro ratchet fastener has been upgraded for greater convenience, making it easy to fasten or unfasten the chinstrap even while wearing heavy gloves. The fastener has been made more compact without changing its safe design, featuring two stainless steel teeth that only unlock when the fastener tab is fully lifted. The strap is woven from high performance fibers that offer exceptional strength and elasticity, enabling a slim design and closer fit against the neck without compromising strength.
The CNS-1C shield used on the GT-Air 3 was created by upgrading the CNS-1 shield used on the previous model with a center locking mechanism. Placing the shield lock in the center of the shield reduces bending when opening and closing the shield and improves the side-to-side balance of the seal against the window beading. The addition of a rib at the bottom on the shield provides greater rigidity, for smoother opening and closing.
Helmet comfort is riding comfort. The GT-Air 3’s hybrid interior utilizes both a moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric and a soft raised fabric. The moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric is used around sweat-prone areas, such as the forehead and cheek, to minimize discomfort even when riding in hot weather. Meanwhile, the soft raised fabric is used around the helmet’s opening, which tends to rub against the skin when putting on or taking off the helmet, for maximum comfort.
The GT-Air 3 uses SHOEI COMLINK, enabling the attachment of a separately sold communication system designed specifically for this model. The attachment base is more compact than on previous models, for even more seamless integration of the communication system into the helmet design.
The E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick Release System) allows the helmet to be easily removed by someone else in the event that the rider is in an accident and requires rapid emergency assistance. A ribbon is attached to the cheek pads. In an emergency, the ribbon can be pulled to remove the cheek pads, which secure the helmet across the face. This allows the helmet to be easily removed from the head of a rider who needs emergency assistance.
